Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu has expressed grief at the demise of journalist and broadcaster, Joseph Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong of Accra-based radion, Asempa FM.

Speaking at a memorial service held on his behalf at the forecourt of the Radio Building, which houses Joy FM, Adom FM, Asempa FM and Hitz FM, the NDC MP disclosed how most of his colleagues were addicted to KABA becuase of his late afternoon political show, ‘Eko Sii Sen’ on Asempa FM.

“We all became addicted to his program. After parliament, if you were to come to the parliament car park, you will notice that our radio stations, no matter what sticker you see in the car, whether it is an NPP sticker or NDC sticker, we were all tuned in listening to the most authoritative political talk show programme,” he said.

He believes that “afternoon political talk show will never sound the same” because KABA is no more.

However, he said that he was convinced KABA has gone to a better place.

“We in the NDC are shuttered by KABA’s death. Our condolences to the family, MBG and the media fraternity” he stated.

KABA was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he had been rushed after he suddenly fell sick early Saturday, November 18.

He was 37 years old.
